Gifted Elite Clothing is a lifestyle street wear brand based out of New York City.
Born with a god given talent
GIFTED ELITE New York was created with the belief that every individual is born with a god given talent.
Our garments reflect the spirit of freedom and eccentricity of New York City. They depict a timeless vintage blend of clothing, with an application of culture driven designs. Our brand's mission is to bridge an emotional connection through our diverse style of approach to streetwear.
In practice that belief has a very unglamorous translation: heavy fabric, honest construction, small runs, and prints that are pulled by hand a few blocks from where the garment is packed. We would rather make 300 pieces properly than 3,000 badly.
Thirteen years, one city
A basement on Ludlow
The first 40 tees are screened by hand in a basement on Ludlow Street and sold out of a duffel bag on Delancey.
The first heavyweight run
We move to 240 gsm cotton and never go back. The Gothic Arch pattern is drafted and becomes the house block.
The studio
A permanent studio opens on the Lower East Side with a four-colour manual press and a cutting table.
Repair programme
We start patching and re-stitching returned garments at cost rather than replacing them.
Concrete Grammar
The SS26 run — ten pieces, small batches, entirely cut and sewn in New York.
Four rules we do not break
Cut in New York
Patterns drafted, printed and finished within a few subway stops of the studio on Ludlow Street.
Heavy by default
Nothing under 200 gsm. Garments should outlast the season they were bought in.
Small batches
Runs of 120 to 300 pieces. When a colourway sells out we would rather move on than reprint forever.
Repair, not landfill
Send a garment back for a patch or a re-stitch within two years and we will do it at cost.
Come by the studio
138 Ludlow Street, open Wednesday to Saturday, midday until seven. Appointments welcome.
